Robotics Research Assistant

Queens University

May 2025 - August 2025

• Collaborated with the Small-Scale Robotics Lab to develop a mechatronic system for ingestible capsule position tracking, integrating a Hall effect sensor array and robotic arm for non-invasive tracking and control.

• Designed and 3D-printed a custom mount in CATIA to securely attach a permanent magnet to a robotic arm, reducing end-effector wobble and improving positional stability by 20%.

• Performed FEM simulations in COMSOL to extract magnetic flux values at various positions around a permanent magnet, providing input for a superposition algorithm to accurately estimate capsule position.

• Designed a custom test fixture to measure magnetic fields produced by a permanent magnet at 100 points around a sensor, validating COMSOL simulations with 95% accuracy.

• Validated strength of designed parts using ANSYS FEA, optimizing geometry to reduce material usage by 15%.

• Designed a DAQ system with multiplexers, a custom Hall effect sensor array PCB, and a microcontroller, troubleshooting hardware to ensure accurate data acquisition.

• Authored an engineering research paper detailing key initiatives and submitted it to a peer-reviewed journal.

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Canadian Tire

May 2024 - August 2024

• Designed and prototyped a conveyer transition mechanism using AutoCAD to address recurring mechanical failures, resulting in a 10% decrease in conveyer downtime.

• Conducted a Failure Root Cause Analysis on a mechanical conveyor system and documented the findings in a technical engineering report.

• Created and validated GD&T-compliant engineering drawings of the Tire Gantry Conveyor layout using AutoCAD.

• Collaborated with the Asset & Reliability (AS&R) Team to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for responding to machinery failures.

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Zipline

January 2026 - Present

• Designing, Building, and Testing Drones on the Avionics Team.

Projects

• Designed and built an 11-DOF humanoid robotic arm by creating custom 3D-printed parts in SolidWorks, enabling the arm to execute human-like motions for complex tasks

• Applied DFM/A principles, FEA analysis, and rapid prototyping to validate performance and optimize the design for lifting loads up to 7 kg.

• Developed detailed GD&T component and assembly drawings with comprehensive BOMs and tolerance stack-ups to ensure accurate manufacturing and efficient assembly.

• Coded the robotic arm with C Programming, utilizing servo motors and an Arduino microcontroller to enable precise motion and actuation of the arm.
